Saturday Snap Back – Cristina Re…

I wouldn't want to put a break in the cupcake-a-thon so today I thought I would take you back to Cristina Re, Where a Girl Goes. This is one of the most delightfully girly shops/cafes I have ever walked into. In the original post HERE I spoke about the cupcakes and macrons but only glanced over the fun sounding classes they have on offer. Perhaps while delighting in cupcakes you could take one of the Cristina Re workshops- ...could you make an origami cupcake? Or card making ... Read More

Cupcakes, Cupcakes, Cupcakes – Day Two…
I remember when I first realized cupcakes were about to take over Melbourne. One afternoon my sister appeared on my doorway clutching bags of city shopping and a small box. That small box contained two cupcakes from the newly opened Cupcake Bakery in Melbourne Central. Shopping was forgotten and we set the box down on the counter to admire the two beautiful cupcakes inside. She had choses a carrot cupcake (brilliant sister) and some other flavour - perhaps vanilla Choc? We put the kettle to boil, ... Read More

Cupcakes, Cupcakes, Cupcakes – Day One…
I have realized in all my blog write ups I keep talking cupcakes...but have left my blog very bare of them. Perhaps this is a little reflective of Melbourne itself. A year ago it was hard to find a street that didn't have a new cupcake Melbourne shop popping up. A cafe if it wanted to be "in" simply had to feature them on the menu. A Wheely Exciting Program! (via )
While I am a great reader and would love to be a writer I haven't had much to do with the Wheeler Centre beyond attending a volunteer session for last years writers festival. This great post by littlegirlwithabigpen reminds me how many great activities and events this gorgeous building has on! Yeah, that pun again. That old chestnut. Oh, but it is! The Wheeler Centre's September-November program came out today, and it's HUGE. I'm just going to go through what's on in the ... Read More

If you have rambled the streets of Melbourne this week it's likely you have bumped into a gaggle of fashionistas on their way to one of the many Melbourne Spring Fashion Week events going on.The city is hosting everything from runway shows to breakfasts to pop up displays as it revels in a new season of fashion heading our way.So you ask me, what's on trend this season? Who wants to milk a cow…
Years ago (pre teen) I lived in New Zealand for a few years and one of the earliest memories of my time there was being invited by a new chum to visit the Dairy. Great - NZ has cows as well as sheep. When told to bring money I think I may have recoiled a little - was I going to have to pay to pat a cow? Nope. Can you imagine my surprise upon walking into a Milk Bar and being told that was the Dairy! Phew. But don't you miss the thrill of going to your local Milk Bar (Dairy, corner shop, off license) ...
