Kenzan can you….
There are some places in the Melbourne CBD that are just crazy busy every lunchtime and Kenzan at the back of the Melbourne GPO building is defiantly one of them.   This Japanes eatery has two locations in Melbourne with a more formal restaurant at Collins Place and this lanewayesque dine in and take away restaurant at the GPO. Kenzan inside has limited communal seating but the covered (and heated) lanewayesque area has plenty of seating options as does a small pace inside the GPO itself. It's ... Read More

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and a Bistro with a Vue…
The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival kicked off for another fabulous March on the 2nd of March. For those foodies out there it signifies glorious weeks of tasting gourmet samples, watching master chefs or foodie flicks, attending express bar sessions or my very favorite express lunch series.   The express lunch as a part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has to be a highlight for me. It's a regional Victorian initiative where some of the states best restaurants fling open their ... Read More

Crossing the Moat…
When a few months ago I heard that the Moat, a new cafe/bar/restaurant, was opening under the State Library in Melbourne I was thrilled. But then I dawdled and delayed and for some reason simply didn't find time to go visit. Silly me. Last Thursday in dire need a glass of bubbles Dino and I headed here for a post work drink and noise catch up. The Moat is located to the side and underneath the State Library near the entrance to the Wheeler Centre. You walk through iron gates, down ... Read More

The Emporium, Melbourne January 2011…
If you have wandered down Little Bourke or Lonsdale in the city recently you may have noticed the large area that is under construction as a part of the Emporium Melbourne development. While I am sad at the loss of the beautiful old heritage buildings some effort has gone into maintaining facades which at this point of construction looks a little peculiar but should be lovely when completed. The Emporium, Melbourne will be another indoor shopping district in the heart of the CBD containing ... Read More

Dinkum Pies is one of those places that used to look like it had been there forever, aging away on Block Pl, crowded out by the beautiful arcade, but am not sure if you have been there lately...things have changed! With a recent do over this place is so appealing that it was packed with people sipping coffee, eating pies and catching up in little groups over the place.Specializing in well..pies...along with other yummy baked goods, Dinkums has an almost New York feel to it with string lighting, a ... Twitter away to me…
MSO, a secret symphony, is there anything more intriguing than a secret? When Bean let me know about a secret event being advertised only across Twitter I was intrigued and quickly began to follow @asecretsymphony part of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) music program. It was so exciting, clues dropped here and there. Where would it be? When? Why...the twitterverse was abuzz.Details slowly began to be shared until we thought we knew it all (lol, how often do we think that hmmm?)The Paris Cat8 ... Read More
