When I was in France I was taking to a sort of green grocer that I had been sold stocked a range of fruit and vegetables that was sure to impress my vegetarian heart.
After a nearly a week in France this was an interesting concept, as vegetarian food isn't particularly French compatible. So as you may guess I was a little dubious about this, sure I love fruit and vegetables...but impressed by a store selling a wider range than normal. Really?
This place was, well, sorta cool. The Grand ... Read More
This is one of those blogs where I don't want to create a cute heading for as the Worship St Whistling Shop, a gin palace tucked away in East London, does all the cute heading work for me.My last Friday night in London I headed here to meet Chuck and Rose for a drink on the recommendation of a Guardian reading Bean. We arrived down the back St that perfectly suits the name Worship St and headed downstairs into the bar already filling with the after five work crowd. The bar seemed fairly large spanning ... Now you would have thought two bags and a cosmetics purse would have satisfied my love of Kate Spade designs right? Right? Yup, I know what you are thinking. I fell in love with someone else's bag (oh the pain) a few months before my trip so I knew that when I went to Woodbury Common Outlet Mall just outside New York I would be headed straight to the Kate Spade outlet. There is something very fresh yet classic about the designer Kate Spade, she uses colour and pattern in such a way that it appeals to a broad range of people - especially moi. She ranges from fun and colorful to dark and classic with a nod to vintage chic. You may have already worked out ... Read More
When Berry told us about an amazing Cuban Speakeasy in the East Village I knew Cienfuegos had to be on the visit list. Tucked away in the East Village, hidden up a set of curtained stairs this place isn't easy to find. But it's worth it. We arrived late on a Wednesday night to a semi filled bar and were lucky enough to find a table that could easily accommodate the four of us. This bar is gorgeous, decadent without being feminine and really interesting. We were handed our menu by a friendly waiter ... Read More
While traveling I managed to take a few photos that sadly have no natural blog home. So as ever the diligent blogger (was that stretching it too far?) I decided to create them a little space all of their very own. This first photo was taken on a Sunday on Fifth Avenue in New York following a giant Latin American (we think) parade that went on for several hours. I can't recall the last time I have seen so many police in one place outside of a police academy movie....This photo was taken in Knightsbridge ... Read More
