Saturday Snap Back – a hidden gem…
How lovely is a leisurely Saturday? With a whole day ahead of me I had to decide what to do with the day and while debating potential brunch locales I recalled Monk Bodhi Dharma and the amazing French Stick toast they served. Just thinking of it makes me want to dash across town and head here... Vegetarian and Vegan Brunch decadence heaven.... Original Post: 22 May 2011... A few months ago I was hunting for somewhere in Melbourne that would cater for a Vegan Brunch. This sounds simpler than it ... Read More

Saturday SnapBack – Melbourne from another angle…
In October last year Bean and I took a Melbourne river cruise down the Yarra. It's something I had always wanted to do because I thought it would be lovely to see the city I love from a different angle. What I hadn't realized is that it would show me a whole new Melbourne I hadn't really realized was there. I am now hoping to go do another trip and head all the way to Williamstown. Perhaps I will see you onboard skipper?   The following appeared on the blog on October 1st 2011. So with ... Read More

Saturday Snap Back – Gerald’s Bar
With Melbourne weather currently being, well, Melbourne weather, it's making me crave a nice safe cozy little place to catch up with my friends and sip wine. And over the last year of all the places I have visited, Gerald's Bar in Rathdowne Village, has to remain one of my favorite places to fit this description.   Bean, Dino and I visited Gerald's Bar for the first time in May last year - The original post can be found here.   I am almost tempted not to share this beautiful ... Saturday SnapBack – I’m singing in the rain…
For my first Saturday SnapBack in January in homage to all that Melbourne weather is I am featuring my favorite Oroton umbrella as surprisingly enough it and my winter coat have both had a work out this summer! If, however, you feel the need to embrace summer then there is a great post on the BusiChic blog featuring summer parasols...and featuring my dear friend Sim! So now your umbrella needs are covered be it rain, hail or shine...it is Melbourne after all. This post originally featured ... Read More

Saturday Snap Back – Don't Speak Americano…
When I originally wrote about Bar Americano in June this year it was in it's opening days. Would it work? A tiny tiny lil bar tucked down the kind of alley you are unlikely to stumble down? The answer from Melbourne has been a resounding yes! With imaginative and delicious cocktails this place is almost impossible to get in some evenings (and can have good coffee rushes during the day too). Have you been yet?The SnapBack from June 17th, 2011...But I don't mind stopping there for a drink. Bar Americano, ... Read More

Saturday Snap Back – Brother Baba Budan…

I think a little coffee is order after all that sugar don't you? Brother Baba Budan is one of those places that is perfectly Melbourne CBD. It has great coffee, is somewhere you may have walked past dozens of times with out noticing it, has chairs hanging from the ceiling (very Melbourne...) and is so unlike an inner city coffee shop anywhere else. This place bustles from morning to afternoon everyday with friends and strangers crowded around the low communal table filling the front window or ... Read More
