"A day trip to Bendigo to see the Grace Kelly Exhibition" - isn't that a glorious sentence? Somehow the concept of day trips still sends a nanna like thrill through me and add stunning fashion from princess and you have me hooked.
When HD suggested organizing a group expedition/adventure to Bendiogo to visit the Bendigo Art Galley and their Grace Kelly: Style Icon exabhition I was excited; images of train travel, beautiful dresses and the sense of adventure filled my imagination. Despite ... Read More
Anyone else worried about my current obsession with the Melbourne Aquarium? In less than a year I have returned to this fishy underwater oasis in the middle of Melbourne to potter with the penguins, have fun with the fish and skulk with the sharks.
On Friday night Dee and I decided that a trip to the Melbourne aquarium would be a perfect summer outing (temperature controlled and dark) although I recall using similar logic justifying a winter trip lat year...hmmm I often marvel at my ability ... Read More
When I was told a few weeks ago about the Melbourne City Circle Sleigh Tram I knew, with all my christmas addiction, I had to see it. At very worst it would involve some patient standing/sitting for an hour while I waited for all trams to make their way around the one hour Melbourne city loop (La Trobe St, Spring St, Flinders St and the Docklands). So with all this traveling about I thought it might be nice to step back to Melbourne for a bit. Here's one I prepared earlier.I finally did it. It's incredible to think how much our skyline has changed over the last ten years with ... Read More
When was the last time you rode a bicycle? And i don't mean the nicely secured ones at the gym!For some it's a daily commute and others a beloved hobby but for many of us it's something we have really not touched since we were of a school age (I think about 15 for me - no idea why I stopped - just did). Living in the city I always see people riding around looking so pleased with their mode of transport on their "comfort" bikes (how cute a term is that - comfort bike - naw) or zipping past hunched ... You may have begun to work out by now I haunt the NGV quite a bit. I love that it's a free art gallery in Melbourne and no matter how often I visit I always find something new to see. I am also exceptionally good at getting lost in the connecting galleries. A few weeks ago we popped in to take a look at one of the exhibitions I hadn't really taken the time look at- ManStyle. Located up on the second floor in the space that seems dedicated to ... Read More
