Do you want to Steele my apron…
Do you recall a few weeks ago I mentioned I had ordered a new apron? Well it's arrived in all it's cheery red christmaseaque glory!   The apron ( Dorris Woodland Holiday Apron) is from the Jessie Steele range ( a US brand) that returns kitsch to the kitchen and brings fresh cute style to aprons, tea towels and oven mitts.   I found this apron for sale here and am thrilled with its look, quality and fit. I especially like the pockets perfect for placing a pen and paper or my ... Read More

And fairytale worthy…
On my second last day on the Barge we spent the morning exploring Roanne and the afternoon visiting a fairytale castle, gee life can be tough sometimes... Chateau de La Roche is located at in the French countryside on a rocky outcrop in the Loire, it's almost hidden away and and I am reliably toldsomee make the journey and never manage to locate it. I was thrilled we managed to make it here, especially as the road is super cornerish designed to ensure car sickness which I have such a wonderful nack ... Read More

A Wheely Exciting Program! (via )
While I am a great reader and would love to be a writer I haven't had much to do with the Wheeler Centre beyond attending a volunteer session for last years writers festival. This great post by littlegirlwithabigpen reminds me how many great activities and events this gorgeous building has on! Yeah, that pun again. That old chestnut. Oh, but it is! The Wheeler Centre's September-November program came out today, and it's HUGE. I'm just going to go through what's on in the ... Read More

Are you in the club…
You knew it was coming right? How could I possibly lead you through all of these Offspring locations and not take you the the pub they seem to frequent in just about every episode. The pub that during season one hosted fights, reunions, drunken moments, sober moments, award moments, packed with potential moments, proximity to arson moments, a birth and one of the most horrifyingly funny songs by Eddie Perfect (a six at best). ...ok that was just a gratuitous Eddie Perfect photo... During episodes ... Read More

Blogging from my iPad
Ok, this is perhaps less Melbourne and certainly not the half price Thursday cocktail blog I promised (Bond Lounge, Bond St, $5 cosmos Thursday Nights), but did originate from a conversation I had at a bar this evening (in Melbourne so does that count? I promise to review the bar in question soon). I do all my blogging from my iPad - writing the text online at wordpress.com and then jumping onto the wordpress app to add photos. This defiantly has it's disadvantages - I can't centre my images, italicize ... Read More

Melbourne vs Sydney & Television…
...so I recently made the decision to part ways with my beloved Foxtel and to transition to the ever expanding world of free to air. For most people having Foxtel doesn't preclude free to air but one of the many joys of inner city living is my Foxtel only got Foxtel channels and no free to air. I seem to have a natural inability to catch anything when it airs so i live for the iq/pvr function. I have discovered something horrid. Australian tv channels can't tell the time. Every station is out of ... Read More
