As I mentioned the other day with the holiday season upon us could there be anything more festive than the Chanel Noël Collection 2011?

Well I guess there could be, say a tree all lit up… queue other festive images here…but really – isn’t it nice sometimes to have something a little (or a lot) special for the festive season?

As an early pressie to my self and a major splurge I purchased the Lumiere Sculptée de Chanel highlighter and the Rouge Allure Laque in Empire 707 from the Chanel Noël Collection 2011 at the Myer City store.

I was then gifted at a certain bloggers birthday with another stunning gloss in Insouciance, Rouge Allure Extrait de gloss! Could a girl be any happier?

So I thought I would give you a brief review should this be the sort of thing to float you boat, boys…look away, I promise to make my next post a little more boy friendly!

The packaging on this one won me over in a heartbeat. This is a very gentle highlighter almost a soft sheen and certainly not too showey. But as I was pleased to discover looks natural on and makes your face glow (in just the right way) in photos. It could be used both day and night depending how much you layer.

I love this soft golden rose that seems to be able to adapt well to just about every shade of light. It’s a heavier blend than my normal gloss, more a liquid lipstick with great pigmentation. It brushes on like a dream and wears well lasting for several hours. I really love this color for work and weekends and parties – its simply so pretty!

This is my new holy grail nude lipgloss. I have highly pigmented lips which means wearing a nude has often been a no go for me as most simply don’t work with my lip and skin tone. Well this one does! I was so excited to discover a gloss that works so well. By providing a slightly warmer nude than I would normally look at, in a lovely shine, this allows me to move from a gentle nude to something even more toned down depending how I layer it. This gloss was released earlier this year but released again as part of the Chanel Noël Collection 2011 for which I am very glad else I may have missed it!

Have also discovered it looks amazing over a lip tint! I am I love with this color and love that I wore it to work today and drinks post work and it just took me seamlessly from one to the other and finally could pull off the nude lip smokey eye combo. Perfect.

The packaging on all three items is perfectly Chanel, feeling and looking elegant and refined. How does this brand keep getting it so right?

The collection also has some stunning reds, festive of course, and pretty nail polishes too. Is it wrong to hope that I might be able to make this a tradition?
