Happy December 1st!!! (possibly Dec 2nd as am posting this quite late). Can you believe we have already come this far into the year?

For those of you readers who have been with me for awhile (thank you) you will probably already know I go mad for Christmas in Melbourne and look forward to this time of year, well, all year!

So in a belated tradition (my tree is normally up early November) I have finally got my tree up and mostly decorated!

Isn’t there something wonderfully cheering about a tree covered in decorations and fairy lights? I type this with the lights off and my iPad the only glow beyond my fairy lights as I listen to carols.

This year I faced the age old dilemma. Which color scheme to go with? I have been very drawn to this purple silver phase going around at the moment and then I think a white and silver tree would match my place perfectly. But at heart I am a traditionalist – silver, red and green for me. Although one year I promise I will have a pink tree!

Most of my decorations hale from BigW and Kmart – surprisingly nice collections and well priced and have been amassed over the last three years. With a few special pieces from Myer and David Jones (got to love those boxing day sales).

These two decorations were ones I brought on my recent travels…one in London and one in New York. Perfect souvenirs!

While I wanted to share some pictures with you of said tree (still needs angel for top and a few green baubles) I wanted to remind you how many fun Christmassy things there are to do in Melbourne and hope to have the chance to do so over the coming weeks!

There are heaps of fun things to do but it’s late – and I think I see a decoration I need to straighten….
