Does my bag make me look pretty….

…it does when it is loaded with my current favorite/can’t live with out/must have makeup items!

I love makeup, am sad to say I probably have more products than anyone I know. Well not sad really – I love them. And have become savvy about storing it all in multiple locations so it never looks…like a lot.

So I thought I would share with you those items that I somehow manage to find just as much space for in my giant over the shoulder bags as in my small evening clutches.

These aren’t the products I apply in the morning but my touch up during the day and take me easily from day to night products.

I wish I had perfect skin, but in the absence of that my Laura Mercier mineral pressed powder in natural beige certainly helps provide that illusion. I use the loose powder in the morning and find that the pressed version gives me a slightly more made up look when applied all over and is great for touch ups (there are a number stores around including Myer and David Jones that carry this range).

A common beauty maxim is that your make up is only as good as the tools you apply it with. My Too Faced Retractable Kabuki fits this bill perfectly. Not only is it pink but it has the softest yet firmest bristles that seem to just make my makeup work better. Did I mention how cute and pink it is? If you are looking for one splurge item I can’t endorse this enough – if you don’t believe me just head to Kit in the Myer Melbourne store and sigh over it as I did…

Blush, the perfect blush makes such a difference and I often get compliments on how nice I look when I wear this one. Chanel has lived up to their name with this Rose Bronze blush – and pulling the packaging out of my bag for a touch up or to use the mirror somehow always feel that little bit more special. This is available at Chanel counters everywhere but also at the Chanel store in Chadstone – it’s lovely to walk out of Chanel carrying an “I just purchased something here bag”.

My Napoleon Perdis concealer is small and has lasted forever – it also has magical powers. It vanishes the shadows under my eyes and reduces redness with ease. Surprisingly, for someone as pasty as me ‘Dark’ is the right color match. Also great to be supporting an Australian makeup line. The only thing missing is a mirror – oh shame will need to pull out my Chanel compact again…

The last two fall into the same category – lips. The first is my apricot lip glaze from Stila. Ever since I tried it on in Bloomingdales for the first time years ago I have never been without a pen. It’s super glossy, not too sticky and the soft peachy color works perfectly on my lips. The second item is a Dr. Pepper lip balm that came recently in a gift bag from David Jones. I will be honest here. The balm is nice. I like the flavor. I LOVE the packaging – Sephora was stocking this a few years ago for $10 and now DJ’s has it here for exactly the same price!
