I have always wanted to stay at the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath. Always. It’s located in the a-m-a-z-i-n-g Royal Crescent, right in the very middle and you can just imagine how luxurious it could be. Naturally I didn’t stay there but on advice from a friend Chuck and I headed there to partake of tea.

We were warned that the tea would be expensive but entirely worth it. It was entirely worth it. After Chuck and I made an emergency band aid stop (I sensibly was wearing new shoes) and happily adorned by my new necklace we entered through the amazing doors of the hotel, through the main corridor and out into the garden. Wow. I never realized that the houses in the crescent would have such large gardens.

The grounds of the hotel separate into two parts; the front building houses reception a lounge and rooms in the hotel, the rear is the old dowagers house and sports a bar, cafe and restaurant. They also have a spa….yup – we have decided next time we are going to stay here!

While sitting in the sunshine underneath the umbrella we soaked in the peacefulness and awaited the arrival of our pots of Earl Grey. It was heaven. There were butterflies and a soft gentle breeze and I could imagine what it might be like to be wealthy.

Our tea arrived piping hot in silver tea pots and with extra boiling water (I drank a lot of tea) it was also served with some delicious biscuits. A perfect bonus. This was such a lovey experience and worth every pound (about £15 all up).
