Last weekend amid a flurry of cupcake decorating and macaron making Lamb and I scooted to Miss Chu – Queen of Rice Paper Rolls on Exhibition St for a very quick (and yummy) lunch.
Miss Chu‘s opened last year in Melbourne (has been around in Sydney for awhile I think) and has been’pular ever since. It’s got a really kitsch feel to it with a delivery bicycle always parked out front, a long narrow restaurant space, low seating cubes and a window at front that opens for coffee. The string of lights and paper signs really rounds off the charm.
The menu has a good range of dumplings, salads, pho and of course rice paper rolls. The Vietnamese food is fresh and very tasty (in the above photo you can see some of it being prepared for the day ahead) and we had a hard time narrowing down the menu quickly.
We ended up grabbing the dumplings (four types and all delicious) and the vegetarian egg net salad. Everything was fresh tasting and packed with flavor. The egg net salad, an item I ordered under trepidation was my stand out dish and will def appear as take away/ delivery option in the not too distant future.
They were able to get the food to us quickly and while we both shamefully left running out the door chewing as we headed back to class it was the perfect lunch time pit stop!
