Ok, so my Christmas in July plan, I have realized, may have been slightly ambitious given my cooking abilities. I spent today running about buying the worlds biggest trolly of veggies and supplies, finalizing the menu and doing as much of the preparation as possible. I am, thank heavens, loving it (except for a mild major panic when I missed a key ingredient in my nut roast, no, not the nuts) as I dance about to carols, chop veggies and decorate my house.

My December Christmas last year was a bit random as I spent the day with lots of people I didn’t really know so tomorrow is extra special as while it’s not with my birth family it is with my friend family. One of the things spending so much of my twenties far from home taught me was how important it is to build an urban family with your friends. And now I get to have Christmas with them!!

As I have been busy running about today I hope you will accept my Melbourne Twilight photo offering taken from Southbank last night.

This piano guy seems to be everywhere around Melbourne at the moment. Lucky the Piano has wheels. The music was also gorgeous to listen to as I walked past.

Ok, off to bed so had better leave milk and carrots out…surely Santa acknowledges July Christmas?
