Le Non Petit breakfast…

So for me London breakfast is synonymous with “Fry Up” and having finally recovered from my bout of air sickness (tres humiliation central – but who serves fish in an enclosed space with stale air??) I knew my first breaky had to fall into the field of eggs, beans and toast….mmmm.

So carrying my GIANT Primark shopping haul (yes, shopping before food) we headed to Le Petit Bistro in Balham. Having always lived in North London Balham has been a revelation for me. I love it! And Le Petit Bistro deserves some of the credit. Its tucked away between a pedestrian only mall and a stree this tiny little cafe serves some amazing food.

I ordered the Veggie Breakfast complete with a veggie sausage (I love that England so naturally embraces it’s vegetarians) that came with both fries and hash browns (I kept getting the giggles over all the potato but then realized this is often the case with a fry up over here and that while in Aus we have to pay extra for a hash brown let alone chips it’s the norm here).

It was super delicious and I loved that ketchup here belongs on the breakfast table and I didn’t have to hushedly whisper to a horrified waitress that I wanted ketchup with my eggs. Everything was well cooked and the veggie sausage was crunchy and very home made tasting made from vegetables as opposed to protein. Yum!

Sister Melbournian (my beloved host) ordered an omelet that looked pretty amazing and came with a thumbs up!

The prices are great and for such a sweet little spot this is a great find and I have plans for at least one more visit before my holidays end!
