I think I have discovered my new favorite part of town. Within a hundred meters and two lane ways lie Brother Baba Budan, Little Mule, Captains of Industry and my latest discovery – Manchester Press. How lucky can a girl get? Yet another gorgeous eatery and coffee establishment this old school, but only a few months old, haunt is a worthy contender in this little hot spot.

I stumbled here, literally – heels and cobblestones are not my friend, while waiting to meet a friend and settled in to enjoy my coffee and read my kindle. The coffee was good, not a burnt bean in sight and was all rich and strong (hmmm – what else does that remind me of?)and the staff were all chatty and lovely. The art work inside was interesting and I spent some time trying to decide if the artist had painted staff/owners or was just fishing from imagination. Either way the giant pictures did great job of turning this warehouse like space into something more inviting, spacious and removed from the world outside. The multi leveled wooden tables with what felt like old school chairs and stools lean towards big groups or shared tables in that ‘friends’ sort of style with a few tables just for two as well. They even have a set of cute fire extinguishers painted to look like Babushkas although I hope they are there just for art as no idea how anyone could reach them!

It was mid afternoon and the crowed was diverse with a blend of students, those escaping work and friends of old catching up. The crew were happy to let me take photos and left me in piece to happily read my book. Although here I might point out I did get a friendly jeer at my choice of novel – when am I going to learn with my kindle I can lie through my teeth and just say I am reading Catcher in the Rye or something? Noooo…I am not telling you what I was reading but it does put me clearly in the nerd category

MP has a good sounding lunch menu specializing in bagels and I must admit that I did spy some of the other patrons meals and they looked really nice. I do love a good bagel so will have to return here for lunch.

To find this little secret cafe just follow the tricycle with it’s cafe sign – too cute!
