Sometimes when I just need a break from work I love to go for a walk. I like to go down lane ways, upstairs, downstairs and just generally somewhere a little different. It’s how I have made some amazing finds, an occasional fool of myself (I swear I thought it was a boutique shop not a persons front door) and just snuck away from reality for a bit.
It was on just such a stroll I decided to go into the Hub Arcade (runs alongside and connects to the Royal Block Arcade). It’s one of those places I occasionally pass, look at, and continue along my way. This day however I decided to pop in and take a look. I discovered Cafe Pasarella, a stylish month old cafe, with a great blend of sandwiches, baguettes, salads, random lunch items and cute looking desserts. I was very tempted by the grainy baguette because the bread looked Devine, but the rocket, tomato and avocado filling seemed a bit steep at $8. So I moved along to the honey roasted pumpkin, ricotta, watercress and pine nuts. It was such a good choice. The bread was packed with chewy dense nutty flavor and the pumpkin was tasty.
The couple running it were lovely and very pleased to direct me to their Facebook page packed with yummy looking pictures. I will def have to take someone back with me to split one the delicious (but giant) pastries. It will be interesting to see how they go along as they are on the high end from a price point and a bit tucked away. I hope they do well as it’s great to see more places being creative with their lunch offering.
On another note the Hub Arcade also houses the famous Max’s Shoe & Bag Repairs that is one of those in the know secrets for great quality shoe and bag repair. But be warned – as it’s so popular there is often a bit of a wait.
