I have been eyeing sweater clips on eBay for several months now. What’s a sweater clip I hear you ask? Why it’s a clip that holds your cardigan together without needing to button it up (i.e. there is a gap). Now I have no idea why they are called sweater clips instead of cardigan clips – I shall simply (and with true ignorance) attribute it to quirks in american terminology.

Anyway back to sweater clips, so I have been stalking eBay for ages trying to find one I liked, one that wasn’t too expensive (I had no idea if I will like them as much in reality) and one that would work with some of my summer cardigans. With the current spate of storms buffeting our pretty city it’s hard to believe we are approaching summer…but we are. I hope.

When I saw a set of three really pretty but all slightly different vintage clips being offered as a set on eBay I was thrilled. I placed my bid and kept checking back in and increasing my order (oh eBay how competitive you can make me). As you may be able to guess by this post – I won them! And for the total being under 15AUD including shipping I was thrilled.

They arrived today and I love that the lovely vendor made the effort to package them in a nice big box and then individually wrap them with tissue paper and sunshine yellow ribbon. Such a nice touch!!

Each is gold tone with a beaded one, a white beaded one and one from Niagara Falls. I think this may be my favorite…I wonder who originally purchased it? Perhaps a bride on her honeymoon, or a grandmother whirling her way around the globe? Who knows, but here it is in Melbourne ready to be paired with a cardigan and vintage dress.
