A Gypsy Hideout…
Gypsy Hideout is tucked on the High St row of shops in Westgarth Village, in fact it's one of those place I had simply never noticed before. A bright, cheery little cafe with a nice outdoor space and parasols for a sunny day this place is a great find in this brunch prolific area.   I met Bean and Dino here one Sunday morning before we headed up the road to Northcote Town hall and Take 2 Markets. I arrived first so ordered a "Gypsy Elixer" aka a red berry juice that arrived surprisingly ... Read More

Looking for the Main St…
I was recommended a visit to Main St, Mordialloc by CJ when trying to find something nice somewhere on the way to Cheltenham DFO for lunch. CJ as always can pick a winner and her referral of this cafe that would have been just as happy in Fitzroy was a great find.   Main St is oddly enough tucked along the Main St in Mordialloc right at the end of the Neapean Highway in a lovely old historic building on the corner. The restaurant is all about exposed brick, brown paper specials ... Read More

A thousand blessings…

By 10am the place was packed again. A sweet, warm and friendly ... Read More

Call the switchboard…
The Switchboard Café tucked into two small nook in the wall spaces at the foot of the Manchester Union building is absolutely enchanting in its very own quirky way. I have long had an obsession with the stunning building for its old world charm and history and the café serves it all up right on a plate…or in a cup. Looking for somewhere to head for a quick and easy lunch I wondered past the switchboard cafe and was tempted by the people eating avocado on toast outside in the walkthrough ... Read More

Dinkum Dunkum…
Dinkum Pies is one of those places that used to look like it had been there forever, aging away on Block Pl, crowded out by the beautiful arcade, but am not sure if you have been there lately...things have changed! With a recent do over this place is so appealing that it was packed with people sipping coffee, eating pies and catching up in little groups over the place.Specializing in well..pies...along with other yummy baked goods, Dinkums has an almost New York feel to it with string lighting, a ...
