So very Manhattan …
I think brunch may well be a New York institution and Berry and I managed to stumble (ok, iPhone google) the quintessential New York home to brunch, Brasserie located on 53rd. This was our destination pre MOMA and Berry couldn't have chosen better. This beautiful French, well, Brasserie is so New York that I half kept an eye out for Carrie with Mr Big, the Cashmere Mafia set, Blair Waldorf and the gossip girls. Upon entering we were ushered politely down the central glass staircase feeling incredibly ... Read More

I spy…
So after fifteen hours of travel, broken with four hours of sleep, I was finally in New York. Home to one of my most favoritest people in the world, shopping, life everywhere, shopping and my second most favorite place on earth. I felt great. Upon dumping my bags (I brought barely anything with me) Berry and I headed into the East Village to grab some lunch (or whatever meal it was given my body clock). A Sweet Source…
This is one of those places where you almost want to pinch yourself as you walk in. It's exactly how a cafe selling sweet cakes should look. Exactly. Its even situated perfectly at the foot of the quirky charming Rathdowne Village, a favorite haunt of mine. On Sunday with yet another beautifully sunny morning spreading out in front of me I decided it was the perfect day to have an impromptu picnic in the park. I will be honest here that I generally spend an hour or two most weekends at the park ... Read More

Caffeine palace…
The Federal Coffee Palace in any other city would belong to tourists. We evidently don't share as it's generally locals stepping away from the hustle and bustle of Elizabeth St who end up grabbing coffee or a quick bite here.Tucked on the side of the GPO the cafe itself is small and unassuming, what makes it rock is the outdoor seating in the GPO verandah. It's a beautiful place to sit and sip a coffee or catch up with friends under the softly glowing arches with sunlight (if you are lucky) streaming ... Read More
