What a Gem…
Having brunch with friends is one of those things that is so easy to work into always too short weekends. This morning Java, Dino, Bean and I met for a semi reunion and birthday celebratory brunch on Canterbury's Maling Road. If you haven't ever been or heard of it - it's a little like stepping back in time. But more on the road itself tomorrow. For today it was all about Brunch. We had planned to try the Maling Room a beautiful looking cafe in the old picturesque post office. Reviews had been ... Read More

Why yes sir, yes sir…
Three Bags Full has been on my to go list for some time now partly because it consistently gets rave reviews for both it's coffee and food and partly because I love the name from the nursery rhyme. So on Saturday, freshly coiffured from my scoopon visit to the Y Salon I met Dino for a late lunch. I was hoping we would be able to sit outside with binks but the weather was so cold she in all her puppy wisdom refused to get out of the car and we were freezing just waiting to meet outside, so alls well ... Man you’re imPRESSive…
I think I have discovered my new favorite part of town. Within a hundred meters and two lane ways lie Brother Baba Budan, Little Mule, Captains of Industry and my latest discovery - Manchester Press. How lucky can a girl get? Yet another gorgeous eatery and coffee establishment this old school, but only a few months old, haunt is a worthy contender in this little hot spot. I stumbled here, literally - heels and cobblestones are not my friend, while waiting to meet a friend and settled in to ... Read More

Don’t speak Americano…
But I don't mind stopping there for a drink. Bar Americano, younger sibling to Der Raum, opened very discreetly last night, no announcements and no gala opening night - I found out via a single line random tweet. They opened on the Thursday evening to serve cocktails to those in the know (by the time I read the tweet I had my PJs on and couldn't bear to brave the cold - feel free to call me a wimp).I must admit I have been stalking Bar Americano for several weeks now: cruising (Lt) Collins; hopping ... Now, don’t be catty…
Get yourself along to the Black Cat. This is pure Fitzroy, from the assorted comfy couches to the mix n match decor a la garage sale. This venue is featured frequently in Offspring in guise of cafe although it is just as well known as an evening night spot. This was where our OP (plan to visit local Offspring filming locations) went a little off whack - we were hoping to grab a bite to eat to ward of all the alchamahol but were told that the bar stops serving food at four. So while we didn't ... Read More
