So after our coffees and fruit sodas we decided to mix it up. Alcohol. Yay. Our next stop on our OP (Offspring filming locations Plan) was to head to the infamous Madame Sou Sou. This is one of those places that seems to have mastered the trifecta - popular brunch, lunch and dinner venue. And pretty good for coffee and hot drinks in between. This cafe is used in Season 1 when Nina meets the very very handsome Chris Havels wife for a coffee (before running over her foot).
We arrived at this institution

So our first stop as part of the OP (Offspring Plan - our plan to visit a number of the Offspring filming locations) was Radio on Gertrude St with it's iconic play school round window and wooden chairs & table outside, cute but always surprises me how often I see people sitting out there so close to the road. This venue seems to be used quite a lot in the series for coffee and lunch. Dino, Coffee and I knew we were going to have a big night ahead of us - so little did we know - so we settled for

No, this isn't about a football team (am not sorry to say that for this blog it is unlikely ever to be the case) but about the next feature in my Offspring Fitzroy crawl. Welcome to St Judes Cellars. This is one of those places I have had on my "when rich" list for some time now. And then my OP (offspring plan) came to fruition and this restaurant featured in the first episode of season 2 like a siren call. That was it. St Judes was on the hit list.
We stumbled into St Judes airy open front

This is one of those shops. The ones you step into and for a moment it feels like you are somewhere else. Located on Brunswick St, Fitzroy, nestled amongst vintage stores, record shops and restaurants this place is devine. Kleins is designed around perfume and all things that smell good (except for the perfume entitled dirt...yup I know). They also carry an impressive range of skincare, beauty and candle products. It is long and narrow and absolutely feels like an adult candy store with things arranged

It's a little like stepping into Etsy. In fact many of the store holders are on Etsy. The Rose St Artists Market is tucked in a back street of Fitzroy and offers a wide range of crafty hand crafted goods. The mostly open air space is in a former junk yard and has been around since 2003. It's one of those places that often feels like a locals secret and stepping into the grounds as a non local is a little like entering a secret garden.
It was a perfect day for browsing (or sitting in the park) and
