Trade Up…
The next stop on our Melbourne Open House Day expedition was the Victorian Trades Hall. It's the gorgeous old building on the bottom of Lygon - it usually has a huge pro/anti banner on it and houses events during the comedy festival and has a bookshop in the basement. Have you ever had a kookaburra land on your shoulder…
No? I wish could say the same... But to add a little context to the tale let me begin by wishing you Happy Melbourne Open House Day day! I am the sort of person who loves plans, lists and adventures (Enid Blighton style as opposed to Bourne Identity). Ho ho ho and a bottle of rum…
The Mission to Seafarers is one of those buildings that has fascinated me for years (and this is even before I knew the name). I recall driving past it when I was younger when it used to be in the middle of nowhere...now it's between two somewheres (crown and docklands). The building itself is interesting, packed with shapes and who would expect a spanish villa on Flinders St!!
