Crossing the Moat…
When a few months ago I heard that the Moat, a new cafe/bar/restaurant, was opening under the State Library in Melbourne I was thrilled. But then I dawdled and delayed and for some reason simply didn't find time to go visit. Silly me. Last Thursday in dire need a glass of bubbles Dino and I headed here for a post work drink and noise catch up. The Moat is located to the side and underneath the State Library near the entrance to the Wheeler Centre. You walk through iron gates, down ... Read More

Hive heard enough Mr…
On the 40 degree day at the start of the year the girls and I retreated into the air conditioned cocoon of Crown Casino and Mr Hive Kitchen and Bar. I was really impressed given the size of our booking that they were good enough to have set up a table both ... Read More

Moon over you…
The first time I went to the Half Moon in Brighton I was dubious...was pub food, albeit in Brighton, really what I had in mind for pre theater dinner? I can now answer, after having returned a second time just to be sure the first wasn't a fluke, that this place is great.I met Dee and Bean there on a crowded Saturday night where arriving early (this rarely happens to me) I grabbed a glass of my favorite wine, Catalina Sounds Sauvignon Blanc and pulled up a chair. The bar at about 6pm was busy without ... Read More

Just a hint…
Last night a group of us had a wonderful evening at Melbourne's best restaurant, Attica....dare I say five hours of dining? So as you may understand I haven't got a blog post prepared for you today but thought in would share with you a little eye candy...The final two dishes in our eight course degustation menu! We supped on native Australian fruits - to mixed reviews amongst our group and sweet little fresh caramel filled chocolate eggs.... ... Read More
