This is one of those places where you almost want to pinch yourself as you walk in. It's exactly how a cafe selling sweet cakes should look. Exactly. Its even situated perfectly at the foot of the quirky charming Rathdowne Village, a favorite haunt of mine. A visit to Maling Rd, Canterbury, is a little like stepping back in time, so every so often when you feel the pull to spend some leisurely time brunching and browsing this is the perfect spot. The verandah lined streets are filled with gift shops, antiques, boutiques, jewelers and cafes. I should be upfront and say it's more of a girly street than a boyish street and has a natural lean to the older generation. I love it when a restaurant causes a stir in Melbourne - for some reason we seem to be the perfect size for this sort of news to thrive.
A few weeks ago, when we visited Der Raum, Lamb mentioned a new Restaurant just up the road that looked interesting.
