This is one of those places where you almost want to pinch yourself as you walk in. It's exactly how a cafe selling sweet cakes should look. Exactly. A visit to Maling Rd, Canterbury, is a little like stepping back in time, so every so often when you feel the pull to spend some leisurely time brunching and browsing this is the perfect spot. The verandah lined streets are filled with gift shops, antiques, boutiques, jewelers and cafes. I love it when a restaurant causes a stir in Melbourne - for some reason we seem to be the perfect size for this sort of news to thrive.
