I feel like I am covering a lot of asian dinning at the the moment but when in Chinatown…

A few weeks ago I caught up with an old uni chum on Bourke St. Our goal was one of the yummy and many (three) noodle/asian/japanese eateries all in a row. By default we met in the middle at the relatively newly opened Ramen Ya (also can be found in the GPO).

Upon entering we ordered from a big board stylishly hanging ( can a board stylishly hang?) above the front counter. As the name suggests this place specializes in Ramen but also has a range of bento boxes on offer. I was pleased to discover a few veggie options and went for the bento box while Agate went with traditional Ramen.

The layout is really well pulled together and looks stylish, fresh and a little sophisticated for a quick turnover noodelier. I was quite enamored of the giant white balls hanging from the ceiling (please, cease your sniggers).

Our meals came out fairly quickly and both were delicious. I went with a tofu bento box that came with a nice side salad and heaps of rice, Agates looked great with generous quantities of seafood and from her happy face I imagine it was quite good.

Easy to get in and out of well within a lunch time this is a really nice spot to step away from the bustling city.
