November last year I was walking through Bourke St Mall and noticed a sign over the old Supre for…ZARA!!! This stylish Spanish chain has been a favorite of mine be I in London, New York, Barcelona or Hong Kong – i.e. Wherever in the world I can stumble into a store.. The clothes are perfect for work and lots of their pieces work for whenever…if you know what I mean. Some of my ‘go to’ clothes are from their stores, including my travel lil black dress – it pulls out of the bottom of my back pack perfect every time, and over the years and everything seems to hold up well. I know my friends are as batty for the brand as I am!

Over the past few months they have been busily renovating (or so I thought) for an opening in April. A few weeks ago they pulled down the barriers blocking what I thought would be covering all their busy renovations…and nothing. Empty shell. They then proceeded to rip out more of the facade and interiors of this four story building. With Sydney Zara now happily gloating and set to open in April it looks like we will have to wait until June before we get our hands on our own Zara.

(apologies for the quality of the first pic above – I took it late last year to send to a friend never thinking I might need it for a blog!!)

  1. Ah Melbourniangirl, you know my heart beats for Zara too… Am eagerly awaiting it’s coming but apprehensive about the pricing. What makes Zara so good is its high street affordability. Love your blog!

    • Lol – thanks Bean! Rough quotes sound ok – pants $70 , trench $120…
